About me
Luci Gutiérrez
(Barcelona, 1977)
Since she completed her studies in illustration at the Massana School in Barcelona in 2001, she has worked in edition, advertising, media and also in book illustration.
In 2007 she spent a period of time in New York and, since then, she has been working regularly for the American press in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The New Yorker in which she illustrates weekly the section Shouts & Murmurs.
She’s the author of the book English Is Not Easy, an illustrated guide to the language, published in many countries around the world; and her last book Manual de Autodefensa makes it clear that life, like English, is not easy.
Her work has been awarded in Communication Arts Illustration competition, by the Society of Illustrators and also selected in American Illustration.
